Changed pads and other brand paste. I placed 1.5mm to that one small component, other pads 1mm.
Results looks good, now with ambient 30c and fan 90% core is around 57c deg. and mem 75c deg.So mem temp dropped like 10c deg. my other ref 56 is showing high temps again, i think im gonna replace paste and pads again with these other brand products…so will see how it goes…even here up north its gonna be hot hot for few week, like 30+, just have to lower clocks on gpus that are getting too hot then…too many of them to start replacing all thermals.
that a good tune! . Looks like i can use this one ref 56 untill i get new thermals to this one next week.
I can live with this as long it stays below 80c deg… Nice one again
Here´s the other ref 56
hi, please show me the belt for hunix and what you wrote in Extra config arguments?
? how can i help you? extra config…do u mean miner conf in flight sheet…or straps on Advanced config field on oc tab ? Hynix, do you want normal hynix values ?
amdmemtweak --CL 20 --RC 36 --RP 11 --WR 14 --CWL 8 --FAW 12 --RAS 20 --REF 65535 --RFC 248 --RTP 5 --RRDL 6 --RRDS 3 --WTRL 9 --WTRS 4 --RCDRD 12 --RCDWR 12
thanks, how did you register (eth cfg) that you have all the same A448?
thats just eth conf A…hive tune gpus to that conf…there is no special confs to select …that i dont know anyways
You can also make it as:
–eth_config=B
to let it auto-tune. But I personally found B446 to work best for my card.
how many cards do you have ? all vegas? samsung or hynix doesn’t matter? if I want to write a config for each map, how can I edit it with one comma or two?
I have one Vega56 with Hynix memory. I use the straps from @Smining570 with the following OC settings:
In the TeamRedMiner configuration, you need to separate each card with one comma. For example if you have three cards:
–eth_config=B446,B448,B576
or you can use this to let each card auto-tune each time:
–eth_config=B,B,B
thank you, I just needed this information to start trying to select the config
Another done, pads and paste to ref card, proper airflow and i can now drive all with max, mining room ambient around 37c deg. . wouldn’t mind if this unusual heat wave would move on and we could return to normal Skandinavian weather! Cant expand any more, drawing 15A 3450W on one thick extencion from 16A breaker… maybe later ill route 400V inside…more heat etc… vegas are working great, cant be more pleased.
Got the low power Samsung setting to a little more hash with less watts depends on the card but running this at 51.2 for 92-102w.
Core: 975
VDD: 762
Mem: 940
Strap:
amdmemtweak --CL 20 --RC 37 --RP 11 --WR 14 --CWL 8 --FAW 12 --RAS 20 --REF 65535 --RFC 248 --RTP 5 --RRDL 6 --RRDS 3 --WTRL 9 --WTRS 4 --RCDRD 11 --RCDWR 12
only trying these settings on 1 & 5 here:
A couple of my other cards needed just a bit more vdd but stable at 768 or 775.
Wow this is impressively low VDD. I can’t get my (Hynix) Vega 56 lower than 850mV. Any lower than this and I get quite a few “GPU DEAD” errors. You don’t get any “GPU DEAD” error with these settings, ever?
I just dropped the hynix down to 768 today but it was running at 775 for days at a time over the past 2 months and only crashed if I changed OCs without stopping the miner first.
Hynix is using this strap
amdmemtweak --CL 20 --RC 36 --RP 11 --WR 14 --CWL 8 --FAW 12 --RAS 22 --REF 65535 --RFC 239 --RTP 5 --RRDL 6 --RRDS 3 --WTRL 9 --WTRS 4 --RCDRD 13 --RCDWR 12
Interesting. Your straps are almost identical, with the biggest difference being -RCDRD (yours 13, mine 12). I believe this setting will give me lower hashrate though, but I will try it as “power saving” mode. You keep your Hynix mems running at 940 though, so that’s another big difference. Maybe that’s what allows you to drop the voltage so low.
I guess I have to run some tests over the next days
With lower core you might be able to lower vdd too.
Your lower RCDRD of 12 compared to his 13 is indeed one part of your higher hashrate,
but partially also that you have mem at 960 which sets SOC one mem state higher than his 940. Your SOC will be set at 1028 whilst his will be 960.

And indeed, testing with trial and error is the way to go with Vega’s
Hello, first thanks a lot for the guide from vsimovic, used his settings and achieved following results
But the question ist why I get still invalid shares on the Samsung Vega 56, it is the newest GPU in my rig, replacing a Vega 56 Hynix with malfunctions.
Do I have to apply other settings for the Samsung card?
Best regards,
Captain
My Hynix mems, set the SoC at 960 whether I have the mem at 960 or 940. Actually, trying to set the SoC manually to a higher state, 1028 as your other post mentions, reduces my mem to 840 and therefore reduces the hashrate a lot (dropped to the 44Mh/s area). So, manually fiddling with SoC, got me worse results than leaving it at default.
Now I am experimenting a bit with memory at 940 (SoC set automatically at 960) and -RC and -RCDRD settings. I want to try to lower my voltage without sacrificing a lot of hashrate. Otherwise I am still happy with my 52.71Mh/s.
If you like try, on all hynix cards: mem 960 vdd 825 core 1050 with straps, amdmemtweak --CL 20 --RC 36 --RP 11 --WR 14 --CWL 8 --FAW 12 --RAS 20 --REF 65535 --RFC 248 --RTP 5 --RRDL 6 --RRDS 3 --WTRL 9 --WTRS 4 --RCDRD 12 --RCDWR 12
If some or all are not working, gpu dies, increase vdd to 830, that should help.
good luck
hey. Tho i was happy with my vega´s, i started to fine tuning all of them…again… This time managed to get wattage down and i was supprised that got one hynix so low W with decent hash…like Oni often says, tuning with vega´s is never done
These are with eth mode B
