3060 downgrade to 460.39 problem

Hello guys,

I am having problem with downgrading driver for Nvidia right now I have 460.91.03 and I wanted to downgrade to the 460.39.

My card is MSI RTX 3060 12GB Ventus 3x
Running HiveOS - 0.6-209@210831
Using usb 3.1 for OS

How I downgraded driver:

  1. I did it as my friend who did this before said update hive to the current version
    1.1. I threw the rig into maintance mode and rebooted
  2. Hive shell command via web browser line not miner
  3. used command - Nvidia-driver-update —list
  4. then picked version - 460.39
  5. Next download started and finished ok
  6. Installation finished ok
  7. Some reinstallation immediately after installation finished ok
  8. after that I restarted rig and it never load back to hive and having problem starting.
  9. Problem with running hive and getting error - fixing recursive fault but reboot is needed

After this I need to make new usb and start over coz it never solve recursive fault.

Any ideas?

You can deactivate loading graphics drivers under maintainence mode → without loading graphics drivers in the app.

Then your rig will start and you can install a matching nvidia driver for your card.

It looks like your card has a newer pci id so the driver does not match.

Image doesnt matter. If it has a newer pci id it will not load 460.39. Install a newer driver 465.xx and check if it loads. then check pci id with lspci.

it loads up OK with driver 460.91.03 so I don’t see point upgrading to even newer version? maybe I am missing something. Thx

My LHR v2 cards have best performance / wattage with driver 470.63.01.

There was trick with driver 460.39 it will go up from 26 mh/s to 40 or 50. that’s reason I wanted downgrade.

If that’s possible with new drivers?

I’m running my 2 RTX 3060 at about 33 or 34 MH, I wasn’t able either to downgrade to 460.39. How much are you doing?

Hi, I just created usb with old stable version of hiveos 0.6-205 and Nvidia driver 460.84 and trying to downgrade to 460.39

with driver 460.90 just 27mh/s
with driver 470.63 same 27mh/s

I’m using Pool Ethermine, and miner NBMiner.

I am with teamredminer and t rex and i can get better mhs compared to nbminer
