Hi friends!

1 x Asus 5700xt
5 x XFX 5700 (1 was flashed to an XT)

My rig was running smoothly for several weeks and then all of a sudden lolminer was resetting every 20 minutes. I had overclocks applied at that time and removed them to see if that was the issue, it wasn’t. Various cards now show up randomly as ‘crashed.’ It is showing GPU0. Is there anything from the information being shown that would indicate why it is having issues?

Should I flash all of the XFX cards to show the same information or is that normal? I am currently on lolminer 1.29 but was having issues before 1.30 released.

Any help is appreciated!

have you tried with different miner?

I did. TeamRedMiner was also having issues.

you might want to update your system to latest. have you done this ?

I updated to the latest last night. I unplugged the two GPUs that had problems most frequently and now the system has been running smoothly for 10 hours.

Does anyone have a link to a video for diagnosing gpus for problems or identifying if the riser is potentially to blame? I have looked at several videos but none of them were great.

You need to have spair risers or disconnect one of the other cards and plug in one of the not working in their place

I swapped out the risers, cables, and pci plugs.

I removed all GPU’s and swapped the risers, cables, and pcie adapters.

After resetting the machine, it crashed after 3 minutes saying the GPU was dead.

I changed nothing, turned the miner off and on again and it has been running smoothly for 1 hour.

After one hour and some research, I applied OC settings of

CORE1380

DPM5

MEM890

The 5700’s are now up for another hour and doing well.

After doing some research, applying a proper OC can actually stop the cards from crashing.

I will update in 24 hours.

alright, after 48 hours of testing I am still having issues.

i have fresh installed
i have changed the psu plugs
i have plugged and unplugged every cable
i have taken off the overclock
i have tried to mine on other pools (with other errors) and still no luck

could it be my psu or motherboard?

These are the issues ive been receiving

dead gpu
no cards found
cards dropping to 0.00 mh (random cards at random slots. never the same card over and over)

just got this error when booting to lolminer

Having a similar problem here using teamred.
Update to latest version made the rig crash like instantly so I downgraded to 0.6-202 which made things way better.
All started out with GPU 3 showing unknown GDDR6. Reboot would help but problem keeps coming up. So took GPU3 out of the rig and put it on my test setup. GPU worked fine for 48hrs.
Put it back but by no means would the rig run.

Strange is, other GPUs will be affected as well in terms that they do not go for full hashrate.

Build is 9 GPUs
6x 5700 XT
1x 5700
2x RX570

SOLUTION TO 5700 NOT WORKING:

Bought new risers/usb cables/plugs… and everything now works. If all else fails, try new risers and connectors.

Also, never use SATA power plugs. Inconsistent power and doesn’t clip in, meaning it can become disconnected more easily.

Out of a box of 8 Amazon Risers, 4 worked. Be careful with where you purchase your components because you could end up with a headache.
