Adding a RX 580 4GB TO RX 5600 XT 6GB

Hi Everyone

I currently have a Sapphire Pulse 5600 XT 6GB currently getting 40.00 MH. I wanted to add a Sapphire AMD RX 580 4GB to my system to increase daily hash as it looks like GPU’s wont be restocked for a while. Would it be possible to add the RX 580 to my current board running concurrently with my 5600 XT 6GB > :

Expansion Slots
1 x PCI Express x16 slot, running at x16 (PCIEX16)

  • For optimum performance, if only one PCI Express graphics card is to be installed, be sure to install it in the PCIEX16 slot.
    1 x PCI Express x16 slot, running at x8 (PCIEX8)
  • The PCIEX8 slot shares bandwidth with the PCIEX16 slot. When the PCIEX8 slot is populated, the PCIEX16 slot operates at up to x8 mode.
    1 x PCI Express x16 slot, running at x4 (PCIEX4)
  • The PCIEX4 slot shares bandwidth with the PCIEX1_2 and PCIEX1_3 slots. When the PCIEX1_2 or PCIEX1_3 slot is populated, the PCIEX4 slot will operate at up to x1 mode.
    3 x PCI Express x1 slots
(All of the PCI Express slots conform to PCI Express 3.0 standard.)

I’m currently using NBminer at the moment on 1 GPU. Ive seen the rx 580 can reach 29MH. Currently on windows 10 as I only have 1 PC at the moment I use whilst mining but I’ve researched to run a 4GB card you have to use linux zombie mode on lolminer. Can I get the 5600xt 6gb & rx580 4gb running on my board.

Thank You for your time.

Hi.

Sure, you can use both cards on your mainboard (of course if your power supply have enough watts to power them both). .

However, in zombie mode on RX 580, hashrate for ETH is very low and will get lower every next epoch (for today its around 9 - 10 MH/s)

So, IMHO, it is not cost efficient to mine Ethereum on 4 GB cards right now. It’s better if you look to mine other coin (such RVN) . So you can still mine ETH on your RX 5600 and RVN on RX 580 . According to whattomine website, Ravecoin is currently number one to mine on 4 GB cards.
