Bios Mod versus Overclock in HiveOS

I am a new to mining. Just curious about the difference between Bios Mod vs Overclock in HiveOS for graphics cards. Since it’s easy to tweak the voltage and mem setting in HiveOS, is Bios Mod for graphics cards still necessary? Do we still need to flash the cards?
