Cortex Mining on 1660 Ti

I am unable to mine with both lolMiner and Gminer. With lolMiner I get the following error.

(memory check failed for Cukaroo 3 (CTXC) -8GB).

What does it mean? is it GPU mem or system mem. I have 8GB Ram in the system and 1660 Tis are obviously 6GB each

I’ve heard you need 8gb vram cards to mine in linux and 16gb in windows.

Can you provide more details on what exactly requires that much GRAM? Also, don’t tell my cards because they’re mining ETH no problem with 8GB GDDR.
