When I test-net the system, it shows that only a few of the connectors (all in Europe) are blocked by firewall, but not the ip addresses and respected domain name. Cox says it is not their issue (BS), but I believe I need a VPN to connect my rig to the network. Using latest HiveOS. The tutorial for OpenVPN is above my paygrade (and I really do not want to fiddle with this), but I have a VPN service that I can use. They have a linux distro available. Any help is appreciated.

First, don’t use ethminer, it’s long outdated and unsupported. Then test with another network to make sure that’s your issue and it wasn’t from using ethminer.
