Do I have to use HiveOS to mine to the HiveOn pool?

My apologies for another super n00b question, but do I have to use HiveOS to mine to the HiveOn pool?

If I don’t have to use HiveOS, do I need to associate my rig with my farm to be able to mine to the HiveOn pool or can I just use PhoenixMiner straight? (i.e. no farm, no HiveOS)
