Hello:
I’m wanting to see if I can use my workstation for bitmining and eventually make it pay for it’s successor.
As it has at some time (with other OSs) had issues with the on-board Intel 82566DM-2 Gigabit which uses the e1000e driver, I first downloaded hiveos 5.4.0 to see how the hardware behaved.
Linux worker 5.4.0-hiveos #108.hiveos.210325 SMP Thu Mar 25 04:39:49 UTC 2021 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux
I see that the kernel command line has the e1000e.EEE=0
instruction, but when I try to obtain the controller’s settings via ethtool (v4.15), I get this:
root@worker:/home/user# ethtool --show-eee eth0
Cannot get EEE settings: Operation not supported
root@worker:/home/user#
And when I try to change an EEE setting I get this:
root@worker:/home/user# ethtool --set-eee eth0 eee off
Cannot get EEE settings: Operation not supported
root@worker:/home/user# ethtool --set-eee eth0 tx-lpi off
Cannot get EEE settings: Operation not supported
root@worker:/home/user#
Am I missing something?
Thanks in advance,
G.
