Gigabyte Eagle RTX 3080 ti is killing me, it gives 17 Mh/s!

I bought brand new gigabyte eagle 3080 ti but it gives suprisingly high 7 to 17 mhs lol. Also MSI gaming trio 3080ti is mining with 77 to 79 mhs. I am new on mining and i couldn’t figure out what is wrong with these cards. I am in desperate situation and i need some advices.

if you run nvidia-smi -q does it say anything is throttling?

Or if you are on the latest Kernel and new OS versions, you can run:

  • Nvidia-info
  • nvtools --throttle

=== GPU 7, 2D:00.0 GeForce RTX 3080 Ti 12053 MB ===

this is what i get from nvidia-info. As i see there is no thermal throttle  I am running hiveos shell on remote and couldnt find to move pages up and down on web shell.

youre looking at gpu7, in your pic gpu 8 is the one with low hashrate.

yep I add another 3080ti yesterday and right now thats the deal

Try updating the bios for it. I did and that helped a little bit, still needs some tlc. Card does not like the same clockings one bit compared to my other 3080tis

1200 and 2000 285 clock has helped me. Gonna replace thermal pads since ive heard bad things about Gigabytes 3080tis having issues with them. ill update after.

have you tried another slot/riser/cables/motherboard?

Tried that but not making any diff.

can you paste the output of the command i sent earlier? curious if something was missed

It was the same for me on the rx 5500 XT, it turned out that there was not enough electricity

Well, I check that out and looks like i haven’t got any problem with electric supply from PSU. @keaton_hiveon I am running the command what u have mentioned earlier but I am running it on webshell. thats why i cannot scroll up and down on the page. As i said i am pretty noob on linux and mining lol. If you know how to scrool just let me know and I will copy that immediately =)

Any update ?

Well I replaced the pads and went above and beyond with them. does not cut out and crash anymore. Pads were a joke they were missing some and didnt even cover the hotspots properly. I am now pushing 80-83 which is a big improvement, but should be better. Gonna look into maybe a compatible bios from another 80ti that has better power limits. My settings that are getting me 80+ atm are C=1455 M=1200 P=275. Im ok with it, but not happy quite yet. Trying to get it to 86-90+

update++ 84 Mh C=1455 M=1350 P=280, but thats my individual card yours may differ. It has to do better. Anyone else have similar gigabyte with same bios? or better OC settings. Ive tried many settings locked and unlocked high and low.

Try 0 core settings,
0 core 2000memory, pl 0 and restart the rig (reboot) and it will jump to 80
Later adjust memory

remove your power limit and see if it mines higher, My gigabyte and Evga 3080TI LHR will produce very low hashrate if enter any setting in the power limit.
Currently using Trex Miner, 80% fan 1200 core locked 2800 Mem I get 89-91mhs.
Hope this helps

if you run from the run box in menu it will print the output in a notification

problem solved. I sold it and got evga 3080ti. happy with it =)
