H110 Pro BTC+ ASRock - Autofan: GPU temperature 511 is unreal, driver error

Hi,

I got my new setup and ran into GPU temperature 511 is unreal, driver error

Motherboard
H110 Pro BTC+ ASRock (P1.60 03/23/2018)
CPU
2 × Intel® Pentium® CPU G4400 @ 3.30GHz AES
Disk Model
ATA KINGSTON SA400S3 120GB

PSU:
AC Powered 200-240v Delta 80+ Platinum 94% 1400 Watt GPU
ZSX-AMP GPU mining all-in-one breakout board

GPU ( I tried both solo)
Radeon RX Vega 56 8176 MB · ASUS (Samsung HBM2 · 115-D050PIL-100)
Radeon RX Vega 56 8176 MB · AMD/ATI (Samsung HBM2 · 113-D0500350-100)

I did use the Radeon RX Vega 56 in a desktop on a different motherboard with the build in PSU under HiveOs.

When I use the Radeon RX Vega 56 on the H110 Pro BTC+ ASRock I get errors:

Autofan: GPU temperature 511 is unreal, driver error
00:02.0 Temp: 0C Fan: 0% Power: 0W

03:00.0 Temp: 511C Fan: 100% Power: 16777215W

The GPU are not broken as they both work on a different motherboard.

It was the riser, I did get new risers from gpurisers.com and two risers have been broken so I did replace the riser with a third one and it was all good.

For me the problem was one of my sata pin melted straight in the power supply. I had 3 gpus connected to the same cable maybe it can’t handle 24/7

If I am reading your post correctly, (3) risers powered by SATA could be way too much. Technically, a riser can be asked to draw more than a single connector.

PCI slot can pull 75watts by spec, SATA connectors are spec’d in 50’s. Molex would be a better option, or even 6 pin as best if we are discussing riser power connections. I tend to gamble with (2) molex powered risers on a single high quality cable from ATX supplies and 6pin connections from server supplies.

Filling a H110 Pro BTC took (3) 1000w ATX power supplies chained together for all those funky connections on the Motherboard, molex risers, and GPUs :frowning:
