I am between the two checked settings. What’s your opinion?
At 3000 mem clock and 220 PL, hashrate seems to vary between 102 and 102.5, whereas with 225 PL, it gives me a steady 102.5.
As i cannot monitor mem temps, i stuck a fan and two small (4x4cm?) heatsinks on the backplate, on the two sides of the gpu where it got hot (easily touchable with bare hands).
Is that a good sweetspot to leave it alone?
Any concerns about the card’s wellbeing?
I have been locking the core at 1060 and mem at 2700, hashing at 101.2 for like 3 months straight and it’s very stable for me, glad to know it can be more optimized like you did above. Will try and see if it can keep up.
Edit: With locking core @1075 and memory @2950, i got 102.63 stable on Gminer. Power at the wall, which i guess is about ~260w, while it reports 220w in the software.
What is your room temperature? That core temp around 42 C is really cool! I got my card on water cooling so temperature is never an issue.
No, nothing special, you just have alot more headroom to OC the card and never have to worry about thermal throttling or summer or anything. Water is the way to go if you live in hot climate country.
I have a mixed rig of rtx3080 and rx6800, all of them are water cooled so, the radiator fans are all setup externally so nothing to do with fan setting in the mining OS. Why don’t you lock the core at 1075 and just ditch that high power limit?
See for yourself, as long as it’s not crashing every day or two or getting a bunch of bad shares then it’s fine. You need to control core temp and vram well enough to push it that high
