RX 5700 XT Overlocking and Undervolting

Help me please.
I can’t OC AMD
:worried:

If I were you I would blast the fans closer to 90% to cool those cards a bit more aggressively.

bios mod v09. 1500/1550 straps and tREF 5890 and 960mem with adjusted MPT. Teamred miner 0.8.1. Stable for 7 days and counting. Any tips on improvement?

What is the ambient temperature?
I have a high temperature issue from memory.
My room, the temperature at 34c.

oh my! install an air conditioner… my ambient room temp never gets above 72F/23C

Hi, can you share the team red miner log? what are your SoC Frequency and SoC VDDmax?

I left them blank…

Please send me BIOS for AMD 5700xt

Hello my friend
My Cards are MSI RX5700XT with Hynix Memory
Thanks for helping me to what BIOS mode to put on the cards.
I could not find anything.

What did ya do to MPT?

Anyone mining for a long time with 88ºC/90ºC memory temps? Is it safe?

Anything under 100C is technically “Safe”…

Keeping it 90C or under would probably extend the lifespan of the card significantly, though.

The biggest problem with high memory temperatures is that overclocking the memory AND high temperatures can be more likely to kill the memory.

Stock speed RAM is rated at up to 100C. The problem is that if you’re pushing the memory speeds and voltages higher than their rating, AND the memory hits over 100C, you could kill it.

Plus, overclocking stability increases with lower temperatures.

Anyways, 90C is fine for 24x7 mining.

Thanks for the insight, farkeytron.

I really wanted to see the testimony of someone who has put this to the test for more than a year, just to keep my mind at ease.

I mostly sit on 88ºC and don’t actually do 24/7, but more like 16 hours a day. My memory overclock is quite modest too, 1806 Mhz.

I have a Sapphire Pulse model and I intend to add some thermal pads too, but haven’t found a proper guidance for this model around.

The Pulse already has good pads and good cooling, which is why you’re seeing 88C.

My MSI Mech OC 5700 and 5700XT have awful cooling performance for the VRAM even with all my efforts.

When I got the cards, with no mods, running at 55Mh/s in my PC case they would hit 104C on the memory.

I had to pull the cards apart and fix the thermal pads, add compound to the pads, change the compound on the GPU, AND remove the plastic backplate and put a fan on the back of the PCB to get the temps below 94C.

I had to pull the cards out of the personal PC and put them in a room with cold outside air blowing in to bring the temps down to 84-88C.

So believe me, your Pulse cards are doing great… 88C is a good result.

Yeah, the Pulse is not bad, but there’s a bunch of people mentioning temperatures on the 70’s (mostly Nitro+ it seems).

I wonder if I can make the Pulse get to lower 80’s at least. That would be great.
I run it at 72% fan speed (60 on the adrenalin software).

Are these Sapphire Nitro? Great efficiency and temperatures!

dump your original bios from the card with gpu-z, and I can modify it for you. Every card model has a different bios. You can’t just simply say a 5700 xt bios. You have to dump the bios of a particular model card, modify it, then flash it back. Only flash the bios of a particular model card, to that same particular model.
