RX 590 Sapphire, Samsung mem, lots of invalid shares

Polaris Bios edited

Gpu1 keeps producing invalid shares, i’ve lowed OC settings in hope to cure problem. No luck. Could the problem be network or motherboard related?

Up your core voltage and lower your memory clock a lot to test, slowly work your way up on memory and back down on voltages.

upped core volts to 900, lowered mem clock to 1500. Continuing to monitor, first impression is that: invalids are speeding up.

What miner?

TeamRedMiner

hard to tell frequency of invalids, their still occurring…

@keaton_hiveon whats even weirder is that no invalids are listed in worker details…

Because the miner won’t submit known invalids.

I restarted the miner, no invalids yet. we’ll see…

If you didn’t reboot after changing voltages it’s never a bad idea to do that too.

Invalid shares is a problem from to low ram voltage, or to high clocked gddr .
to low cpu voltge is GPU crash.
to low ram voltage is not stating up with the miner.
i have micron ram that runs 2275 mhz @ 900mv and no problems.
the hynix ram is 2275 mhz @925mv
both runs on I/O voltage of 950 ( mem controler voltage )
both 12mv lower and give me invalid shares, 50mv higher and it gives invalid shares  )

First run youre card on stock ram speed and voltage.
see from 1180 837mv if it stable and go up if crashed push up the voltage wth stept 12 ( 837 850 862 875 887 900 912 925 937 etc )
both rx580 runs @1290mhz te Micron on 900mv and th hynix 912mv

if you use Teamredminer and see in terminal.
login and typee ( motd watch ) and see that stale no Hardware error is.
HW errors are invalid shares.
Stales is a card thats runs to slow.
to less voltage on ram make it that all data from ram in Error corection comes and back in ram and sens. ( its4 times slower that good ram )
32 mhs rx580 with to low ram voltage for the speed runs 4 times slower 32:4= 8 mhs realy speed with ups and downs

Ive stabilized now for the last ~24 hours with these OCs:

I imagined both cards would be able to sustain at least 33mh… still working on it.

Ill dig into this once i get back to the rig. thanks!

1250mhz its vcore of 887mv
pull mem controler to 850mv
pull ramvoltage to 850mv and test 2175 and 2200.

do you have modded the bios memory timing straps with polaris bioseditor ?

the RX590 is a RX580 with a 12nm polaris.

the gigabyte can reached it with 75/77 watt
the sapphire have good hungry parts and you can hit 92 a 97 watt the 33.

only its hard to say , not every gpu is the same

Youre gigabyte rx590 pull ram to 2200@887 and ram controler to 850/900 and tesst youre hit 33
self i have not a card with samsung ram

screenshot from my RX580 Sapphire Nitro+ SE mining 34mhs Team Redminer ETH in B-mode ( underclocks )

Yeah i’ve bios modded it.

already fix ?

Yes Im under the impression that my voltage was too low causing crashes and invalids to happen.

these are current overclocks…

next step is to try to remove the DPM states and set mem cotroller voltage and mem voltage.

NIce to see that the invalid shares are gone
i playing with the bios and ram tiings with the samsung and micron here.
both reached 34 mh/s
and same settings.
happy for now ( good with teamredminer and phoenix, teamredminer wit B mode on the RX-580 )
de Sapp is a Sapphire Nitro+ RX-580 Special Edition
both are almost 69 MH/s on etc and eth
