Does anyone use UPS surge protection on their GPU rig? To protect against lightning surge that can fry the equipment? Just curious…
For lightning protection, completely different methods are used. Namely: chokes on ferrite rings with bifilar winding, LC HF-filters, protective earthing, ferrite tubes on power cables, varistors. Much more sensitive to such influences are communication lines, such as ethernet, adsl, wifi (outdoor) and the like, well, of course, unless it’s optics))
