RX 5700 XT Overlocking and Undervolting

AlleyCat, I just want to say thank you. I have been struggling with these cards until now. While I could not get the core clock to be stable at 1460, your numbers are fantastic. I will take a little lower hash rate for 101-111 watts and these temperatures are incredible. I shaved over 50 watts off each card and again, those low temps rock. Running 3 1/2 hours not a glitch. I created a forum account just to say - Thank you so much for sharing.

I tested the settings with a power meter at the wall, and I found that the numbers in HiveOS could be very wrong. I am still investigating these issues because I donā€™t know precisely where the power is getting lost. Some cards that report 96W in HiveOS take about 150W on the wall. My testing methods at this time are limited to remove a card and subtract the total system power. I donā€™t know how much is lost due to the GPU, the riser, or the USB port.
I am telling you, so you are not dependent on the numbers reported by HiveOs.

HiveOS says only GPU power. Dont include riser. These new GPUs needs more power from risers. Also 3 fans + lights + memory of the GPU. Check my info about Sapphire Nitro+ RX 5700 XR series in bitcointalk.org

You can find detailed informaiton. But remember you can reduce power by using proper VDD and VDDCI values.

The system with 12 GPU eats 1520W-1580W and gives 670 MH/s ā€“ 676 MH/s. (Samsung RAM)
The system at the same parts with Micron memory eats 1850W-1950W and gives 700 MH/s ā€“ 704 MH/s.

TOP MEMORY VALUES:

Micron goes to 930-950
Samsung goes to 885-915

how can I proof if a card has micron or samsung memory if I want to buy some new ones?

You cannot know. You have to open the box and plugthe GPU and run the HiveOS.

HERE IS TO SAVE 30W FOR 12 GPU RIGS !!!

You can save 30W for 12 GPU rigs by turning off the lights.
YES, it is possible on HiveOS.

Great information. Thank you.
How do you turn off the LEDs on the GPU using HiveOS?

thatĀ“s 30w per gpu, not 30w per 12 gpuā€¦thatĀ“s a huge difference.

to turn off the gpu ledĀ“s i pulled the cables on every card

Hello @igotek

Iā€™m running 6 rx5700xt cards with micron memory. Can you please share your bios? The best result i could achieve is 56mh with 120w on each card.

clevermikethay@gmail.com

Iā€™m also running MSI 5700xt Mech on my rigs. Getting about pretty much the same results. Already bios modded but havenā€™t tried with morepowertools yet.

Hello,
I use 5700 xt pulse, I changed the straps but I get 57 mh with 105 / 108w.
1380/775/775/920 mem
do you have time for me? what should I do?
thank you

Hello Everyone ā€¦ well being a relative newcomer to the HiveOS family. I had already built a Hackintosh and decided to expand to Bitcoin mining. Currently I am running a B250 LGA 1511 Mining Expert, with 16 gb Ram and a IntelĀ® CeleronĀ® CPU G3930 @ 2.90GHz. I tried valiantly to add HiveOS to my SSD drive but alas I loaded HiveOS onto a ADATA UV128/32GB USB 3,0 stick. I currently have the following GPUā€™s (2) MSI Radeon RX 580 DirectX 12 RX 580 ARMOR 8G and (3) PowerColor RED DEVIL Radeon RX 5700 XT DirectX 12 AXRX 5700 XT 8GBD6-3DHE/OC 8GB. I additional have an EVGA SuperNOVA 1600 G2 120-G2-1600-X1 80+ GOLD 1600W Fully Modular PSU all loaded into a Rosewill RSV-L4000C - 4U Rackmount Server Case / Chassis for AI / Bitcoin Mining Machine. Now down to loading HiveOS. I have 2 machines, 1 Windows and 1 Linux so I used Etcher to load hiveos-beta-0.6-157@200909.img onto the USB stick. I then plugged in the USB to my Mining rig and powered up under Linux. I was able to login to HiveOS and setup my farm and then simply downloaded the rig.conf and then copied to HiveOS. Then I did a Linux sudo cp from the main HIveOS (got address from properties) and then got the address of the [HIVE Root - Hive-Conf] folder and copied to the Hive-Conf folder. The issue from a previous load using just the regular GPU download was corrected by the BETA version so that both RX 580 and RX 5700 XT GPUs were visible on startup of HiveOS. I simply pointed to the USB in my BIOS and voila I was able to start HiveOS miner. Now as an added feature I have 4 of the 5 GPUā€™s watercooled and I should have the 5th recently added GPU Powercolor watercooled in the next 5 days. I am running only 1 fan and the RX 580ā€™s are set at Core 1150 DPM 5 VDD 900 and MEM 2100/2150 the RX 5700 XTā€™s are set at CORE 1430 DPM 5 VDD 775 VDDC 775 MVDD 1350 and MEM 950 ā€¦ please see my results in the attached photos

Cheers to All and Happy Thanksgiving ā€¦ if you need information just ping me and thanks to the HiveOS author and creator for this forum

30W for 12 GPU.

Hi Igotek, tx for your work.
I start mining on RTX 5700 XT Saphire Samsung RAM.
Could you modify bios for me ? how can I send you the original one. ?
tx. vlado.

hi igotek

i just bought 4 Gigabyte rx 5700xt GPUs. unfortunately i have no test system for the bios editing.
could you edit the Bios for me if i send you the 4 bios-backup-files?

that would be awesom. thanks for your help!

kind regards

Hi Igotek,

I send you an mail with my org bios. Could you make an custom bios for me?
Thx.

Hi @AlleyCat could you send me the gigabyte vbios which igotek made for you?
would be awesome. kind regards

So this is my first time using HiveOS and doing mining and after some research and trial & error this was my result. For some odd reason my GPU (Sapphire Nitro+ 5700XT w/ Samsung Mem) is currently running at roughly 54MH/s with interesting temps. I have 43c core, 68c mem and its running at ~88watts with a 31% fan speed (although not sure why it reports 40%). Overclocking preset is as follows:

Core: 1400
Core Voltage: 775
Mem Control Voltage: 780
Mem Clock: 950
Mem Voltage: 1200

Is this good and what should I change so that I can get higher than 54MH/s?

Hey guys,
I already modded the bios with igorlab and overclocked.
GPU model RX 5700 XT 8176 MB Ā· XFX ( Micron GDDR6 Ā· 113-180W2NAVI10XT8GD6_MS_191122_W8 ).

I am getting 58.6 at 121W
129981692_237381404473989_2660403174816616507_n

Here is my overclocking settings:

When I plug 1 gpu it gives me 58.6 and 121w, but when I plug the 2nd gpu it gets 58.6 but at 161w. So I am getting the same hashrate but at different wattage with the same overclocking settings.
First question is how can I fix this and the second one is if there is anything else I can tweak to get lower wattage or better hash rate?
